  •  Healthy Livestock - Safe Food 310/5

    Instructor-led training

    The ITP “Healthy livestock – safe food” aims to reduce poverty of small holder farmers in East Africa through improved animal health and reduced antimicrobial resistance, with a focus on organisations in the livestock sector from farm to fork.

    The overall objective of the programme is to reduce poverty and vulnerability among smallholder farmers. More specifically, the programme addresses how improved health in food producing animals may impact sustainable production of animal derived products, and how this interrelates to reduced usage of antimicrobials as well as safer food products, free from zoonotic pathogens and antimicrobial residues.

    The programme is a part of the Swedish International Development Agency’s (Sida) work with capacity and institutional development for low-and middle-income countries in priority areas.

    The ITP programme Healthy livestock – safe food is planned and implemented by several Swedish governmental authorities in cooperation: the National Veterinary Institute, the Swedish Board of Agriculture, The National Food Agency and the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences.

    Partner countries are Burundi, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe.

  •  Inclusive Green Economy in Practice for Senior Civil Servants and Policy Makers

    This program aim to strengthen country capacity for transformation towards an Inclusive Green Economy and in particular in the program countries: Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania and Uganda. This will be achieved through increased knowledge on, and application of, environmental and economic instruments, organizational change, and promoting national systems for Inclusive Green Economy (IGE). The program (2023-2027) is an advanced training with direct applicability in the participants’ daily work. It includes some theoretical training within IGE, practical exercises, project development and support for implementing own change work. The focus is on the use of environmental policy instruments, and specifically economic instruments.

  •  International Training Program – Disaster Risk Management 321

    The aim of the International Training Programme in Disaster Risk Management (ITP DRM) is to create opportunities for long-term and sustainable positive change in the disaster risk reduction and management sector by supporting participants and their organisations in managing change processes. In addition the programme provide a platform for exchanging and sharing expertise and experience across organisations and countries. 

    The programme is implemented by the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency (MSB) on behalf of Sida. You can find more information about the programme and read previous participants' stories at msb.se/itp.

    This call is open for applications from Bangladesh, Nepal and the Philippines. 

  •  ITP 311 Applied Land Governance East Africa

    Instructor-led training

    The main purpose of this programme is to strengthen capacity of public institutions in the area of Land Management, particularly concerning the ability to effectively deliver services that would enhance people’s, and in particular women’s, land rights in a participatory and transparent manner.

    The purpose is also to develop competence of participating strategic individuals to carry out necessary reforms and organisational changes in the public land administration authorities. Also, the ITP is structured to create an environment for cooperation and partnership between different stakeholders with the aim of contributing to wider societal change processes in the participating countries.

  •  ITPLZ Applied Land Governance Liberia Zimbabwe

    This international training programme (ITP) focuses on land related issues and should be viewed in light of the ability to develop trusted public administration with a clear mandate to enhance impartial, transparent and reliable services to society – a practical implementation of “good land governance” into Applied Land Governance.

    This programme aims to give participants new tools and knowledge on how to approach and elevate a settlement towards formal status with increased security of ownership and access to land as a result.
